EverydaySale Survey: Britons Embrace Vouchers Sent to Mobile Phones

2010-11-18 18:13 1508

LONDON, Nov. 18, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The vast majority Britons surveyed recently believe that the combined utility of voucher codes and mobile phones will be the trend in the near future.

While 47% thought the change will come soon, as the market is now ripe for this application, 43% of respondents in the study of future business marketing said that it will take a little more time, though it's a promising method for brands to promote sales via delivery of SMS-based and MMS-based vouchers to mobile users. The rest of the survey participants don't think this trend is coming, and they will continue to shop on the high street.

This survey, conducted by everydaysale.co.uk, a UK-based voucher codes portal, suggests that Britons prefer vouchers sent to their mobile phones than those found through searching on the internet.

89% of people surveyed are mobile phone users and 78% of respondents said that they have ever used or have been using vouchers or coupons on online shopping. 67% of respondents in this survey showed a strong interest in embracing this combined application. This tells us the potential for mobile marketing via sending vouchers to clients is apparent.

The young people account for 64% of the combined application-enthusiastic people, with ages from 15 to 35 years old, as they think it's very convenient for helping save time, energy and money.

"With the economy still slowing, consumers wish to save cash as often as possible. This is why voucher codes have become so popular today. Besides, the business has seen plenty of change and development over the last decade, and now it's another evolution time through combining voucher codes with mobile phone platforms," said David Hu, the manager of marketing department at Everydaysale.co.uk, voucher codes and discount website in the UK. It's a great opportunity for brand marketing, which in turn, creates much more profit for businesses. The commercial companies should attach much more importance to mobile phone marketing, which is expected to be applied more widely in accepted fields.
