SEOUL, South Korea, Sept. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CPhI Korea 2014, organized by the leading events organiser UBM and Korea Pharmaceutical exhibition, was held at Coex from 2nd to 3rd of September.
In the welcome luncheon on 2nd of September, Joung Kyu Lee, chairman of Korea Pharmaceutical Traders Association, Byung Won Jang, vice minister of Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Byoung Jun Bae, director general of Ministry of Health & Welfare Republic of Korea, and Chris Kilbee, Group Director Pharma of UBM Live had given congratulatory messages. Also, around 40 important figures, embassies, presidents of participating companies, and related organisations including Sang-Suk Lee, vice president of Korea Research-based Pharmaceutical Industry Association, Kwang-Soo Joo, vice president of Korea Biomedicine Industry Association, Wan Sook Baik, Chief of Korea Pharmaceutical Test and Research Institute, Christopher Eve, senior vice president of UBM Asia, and Sekyoo Oh, president of UBM Korea Corporation graced the luncheon.
CPhI Korea 2014 showed a strong appearance as an international exhibition with 53 sponsoring exhibitors -- 18 domestic companies and 35 from overseas. Also, the event attracted over 2,000 visitors and buyers from 47 countries, including 469 from overseas which account 23% of total visitors and buyers.
Domestic sponsoring exhibitors -- Hanmi Pharm, Daewoong, Estech Pharma, Wooshin Medics, Ajinomoto Genexince, MG, Hankook Korus Pharm, Ildong Pharmaceuticals, DongWoo Syntech, JRP, SungYi Pharm, kolmar Korea, WELL E&C, Wooridul Pharmaceutical, and Korea United Pharm heatedly promote their products and strengthened partnerships with local and overseas buyers. Especially Sang-Jae Lee from Hanmi Pharm, a diamond sponsor of the event said "We realized how not only Hanmi Pharm, but also Korea Pharmaceutical Industry has grown in sature through CPhI Korea 2014," and "We will put our heart and strength to make Korea as one of the most powerful pharmaceutical markets in the world through global market expansion."

Also, Korea Pharmaceutical Traders Association, co-organiser of the event, said "We'll develop CPhI Korea as the most representative pharmaceutical exhibition in Korea, and provide lots of substantive information to domestic pharmaceutical companies constantly."
Furthermore, CPhI Korea Conference featured top-level speakers from the government, academia and the industry. On Sep 2nd, Dai Kyu Yu, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, spoke about the registration procedures of the Korea pharmaceutical market. On Sep 3rd, Mr. Hideo Tsunoda and Mr. Ichiro Fujika, Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Japan Pharmaceutical Traders' Association presented Japan's pharmaceuticals and API market, and Mr. Vladimir Krasnikov, CEO of Russian Pharmalicening Group PLC, shared the pharmaceutical, regulatory and M&A trends in Russia.
CPhI Korea 2015 will be held from 7th to 9th of September at COEX next year. The size of the show is expected to be about 4 times bigger with co-located events ICSE(Contract Manufacturing event) and PMEC(Pharmaceutical Machinery Event).
