HONG KONG, Oct. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu is pleased to announce the inauguration of the China Cleantech Top 20 2011 Program in conjunction with venture capital management company Tsing Capital. First of its kind, this ranking program aims at supporting the sustainable growth of the cleantech sector in China through recognition of outstanding players in the industry. Cleantech companies can enroll into the program or nominate their successful peers for participation.
"We have been running the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 program in China. With the same rationale and principles, we hope to extend this ranking exercise to the cleantech sector, a pivotal sector with a lot of vitalities in China. The program has the objective to give recognition to cleantech companies with strong potential and to those which contribute significantly to environmental protection," said Mr. William Chou, National Managing Partner, Technology, Media and Telecommunications Industry, Deloitte China.
This program focuses on companies in seven sub-sectors within the cleantech industry: new energy, energy conservation, environmental protection, new resources, sustainable transportation, bio-agriculture and carbon emission reduction. Top 20 companies will be selected based on their accumulated revenue growth and "direct contribution" to environmental efficiency for the three years from 2008-2010.
"Through this program, we wish to help promote the development of the cleantech industry in China. Not only does the cleantech industry offer visible investment opportunities, it also exerts positive impetus to our environment. Companies, which seek to showcase their growth potential and the efforts they have invested in cleantech development, should participate in the program," Mr. Frank Li, Lead Partner, Cleantech Industry, Deloitte Northern China added.
Application and nomination will close on November 15, 2011 and the winning results will be announced in December 2011. To be eligible, companies should be registered or have their major businesses in China. In addition, companies should have sales or services revenue of not less than RMB 3 million in 2008 and an environmental efficiency contribution of not less than RMB 500,000 for the same year.
