China and Beijing Group Tours with No Factory Stops

BEIJING, March 15 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The China Guide ( http://www.TheChinaGuide.com ) has a history of running private tours with no factory stopping shops. They have now introduced group tours with the same feature and quality. The tours include four star boutique hotel accommodation, a variety of cuisine in local Chinese restaurants and domestic transportation.

"As an American owned and managed business, and as tourists ourselves, we understand what its like to be taken to these tacky factories where the guides expect you to buy things so they can collect commissions. Not only are they a rip-off, but they are also a waste of time," says Peter Danford, American owner of The China Guide.

It is an all-too-common practice in China that tourists are sidetracked to the "Jade Factory" or "Silk Factory" where they eat a bad lunch and are forced to spend more than an hour shopping, whether they want to or not, on a daily basis. This takes time away from visiting sights, walking on the wall, or doing real local shopping. Also if the tourists don't buy, then the guides become annoyed, and it causes unnecessary tension.

The China Guide forbids its guides from doing any factory tour shops and pays them a real wage (some guides work for free and only get money from shopping). This has been its policy for a number of years and has been quite satisfying for its clientele. In this way clients are able to have a relationship with their guide based on a common goal, seeing China, eating good local food and not being cheated. While "no shopping" tours cost a little more since there is no income from factory shops, the price difference is not much and the experience is noticeably different.

Taking the no shopping policy a step further, The China Guide has introduced a 5-day tour which includes Beijing with one night spent sleeping on the Great Wall (their trademark tour). A second 14-day tour includes Beijing, Xi'an, Yangshuo (near Guilin) and Shanghai with a visit to the Expo. Both tours are no shopping and thus save time and money by avoiding these pressure-filled scams.

Details of these tours can be seen on The China Guide web site, http://www.thechinaguide.com . Private no shopping tours are also available, as are custom itineraries. The China Guide employs natives from America, Canada and New Zealand as well as China to answer tour inquiries in a professional manner.
