Climbers Flash Mobbed on Sydney Harbour Bridge for April Fool's

SYDNEY, April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday 1st April 2014, eight climbers were treated to a big surprise, a world-first flash mob 134 meters above the Sydney Harbour in a salute to April's Fool's Day.

The unsuspecting climbers began ascending the iconic bridge for what they believed to be a traditional BridgeClimb experience. When they reached the top they were surrounded from all angles by a 30 person strong flash mob.

There were big arms, canons and spirit fingers as the troupe launched into a synchronised routine to songs by Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Australia's own Justice Crew at multiple locations on the Bridge summit.

Sydney-sider Nina King, one of the eight unsuspecting climbers said, "I can't believe we just witnessed a flash mob at the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. That was the funniest thing I've ever seen.

"I couldn't help but try to join in the dance, so I was delighted when the mob got us involved by showing us the moves and then giving us the chance to do it with them. I will never forget that hilarious moment."

Once the dance steps concluded, the ensemble dispersed and the eight honouree flash mobbers resumed the journey of 1,332 steps along the impressive steel structure. Back on The Bridge Climb, they enjoyed unobstructed vistas spanning as far east as Bondi and as far west as The Blue Mountains.
