Ctrip.com International, Ltd. (Nasdaq: CTRP), a leading travel service provider of hotel accommodations, airline tickets and packaged tours in China, today announced that it is donating RMB 1,000,000 to establish a Sunshine Children's Fund that will help earthquake orphans finish primary school studies in the areas affected by the May 12th Sichuan earthquake. The fund will be used to cover tuition fees and living expenses.
From the time the earthquake first struck Wenchuan, Sichuan Province, Ctrip and its over 7,000 employees have responded to with concern and care for earthquake victims. In addition to the donation, Ctrip is calling on its members to redeem their Ctrip points to purchase stationery, books and sports equipment, which Ctrip will send to Sichuan to be given to orphans in the affected areas.
