HONG KONG, June 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- DHL today confirmed that the company will be the sole presenting sponsor of the first ever 'Enterprising Hong Kong' Awards. The new event will recognize and celebrate the achievements of Hong Kong's most promising enterprises (including established SMEs) and entrepreneurs. DHL's support for the event further underlines its commitment to support excellence across Hong Kong's SME and entrepreneur community.

The new awards, hosted by the South China Morning Post (SCMP), will be presented at a Gala Dinner on 25th September in front of 250 high profile guests. Finalists will be selected by a highly experienced panel of judges including Ecila Chan, Vice President Commercial, DHL Express Hong Kong, Nick Edwards, Business Editor, SCMP, Liu Chee Ming, Managing Director, Platinum Group and Access Investment Management (H.K.) Limited, Alex Cheung, Managing Director, Head of Institutional Banking Group, DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited, Angelina Yuen, Vice President, Institutional Advancement and Partnership, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Dr. Cliff Chan, Chairman of the SME Committee, The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and Agnes Mak, Executive Director, Hong Kong Productivity Council.

The 'Enterprising Hong Kong' Awards will consist of nine award categories to honour enterprises and entrepreneurs for the 'Enterprising Hong Kong' Awards - Young Entrepreneur Award, CSR Award, eBusiness Award, Innovation Excellence Award, Export Excellence Award, Regionalisation Award, Achiever's Award, as well as two categories that involve public voting to determine the finalists' results, Brand Excellence Award and Best Customer Service Award.

To be considered for an award, enterprises will need to put forward nominations for any of the award categories except for the Achiever's Award that will be determined by the judges' choice. To submit a nomination, they need to provide proof of business registration, the completed official entry form, three years' worth of audited financial statements and supporting evidence for how they fulfill business management and details of their preferred award category.
