Combining the superior technical prowess of the SMEG group with DMG’s operation know-how, the Digital Information Display Network provides news, weather, community plus updated transportation information to millions of commuters through the more than 800 high-tech plasma displays at bus waiting areas around Shanghai.

This major business initiative, which begins July 2008, also signals DMG going from a solely subway digital media operator to an above-ground general transportation operator. The network also adds 5 million passengers to DMG’s existing footprint in Shanghai.

With the approaching 2010 World Expo, host city Shanghai is racing ahead to improve the overall public awareness of its overall information infrastructure like the provision of digital information in public areas. The joint force of SMEG and DMG provides an ideal solution to commercialize the digital network yet providing interesting and useful information to the general public.
