S$500 2nd place prize goes to Sarah Lyana, a Singapore resident afflicted with hyperhidrosis

SINGAPORE, Oct. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DocDoc Pte. Ltd. (http://docdoc.sg), Asia's leading healthcare appointment portal, announces the second place prize winner of its international 'Tell Your Story' marketing campaign and contest. The winner is Sarah Lyana of Singapore who suffers from hyperhidrosis, a serious and embarrassing medical condition which causes her palms, underarms and feet to perspire excessively, almost all the time.

"Hyperhidrosis has impacted my work, my dating life and my self-confidence," said Sarah. "I am very glad and grateful to have won S$500. I'll use the money for my first consultation with a hospital to find out more on the course of treatment. I think everyone should know that all problems can be solved and all conditions can be cured or controlled if you take the steps towards it."

"Sarah deserved to win the second place prize," said Vino Subramanian, marketing manager at DocDoc. "We were inspired by her compelling and emotional story. We sincerely hope that others suffering from hyperhidrosis will be inspired to seek out quality medical care."

Sarah's 2nd place award follows last month's grand prize award to Joyce S., a 29 year old woman living in Singapore who submitted an emotional story about her 15-year battle with bulimia and the degenerative effect it had on her health.

DocDoc's 'Tell Your Story' campaign utilized popular Singapore lifestyle blogger, QiuQiu, as its spokesmodel to help publicize DocDoc's medical tourism service in Korea. QiuQiu recently utilized the DocDoc healthcare platform and Appointment-By-Phone concierge service to set up a rhinoplasty and fat grafting surgery with a leading plastic surgeon in Seoul, South Korea. DocDoc sponsored QiuQiu's travel and accommodations.

The integrated contest was designed as an inspirational way to reward deserving patients with prize money to be used for any type of medical procedure needed. To enter the contest, participants were asked to submit a short form on DocDoc's 'Tell Your Story' contest page (https://www.docdoc.sg/contest), including a brief description about how the prize might change the winner's life.

DocDoc's 'Tell Your Story' marketing campaign has been a huge success:

  • 356,000+ total views of QiuQiu's YouTube videos
  • 58,000+ website visits (DocDoc.sg + QiuQiu's blog)
  • Nearly 2,000 contest entries were received from 12 countries
  • 30+ patients who traveled to Korea for medical procedures
