2011-09-23 22:02 1311

SHANGHAI, September 23, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Dianping.com, a leading online city life guide in China, announced on September 22 that Chinese restaurants have for the first time realized "Mobile Check-in & Queue", which allows consumers to post information on people lining up at a restaurant by checking in via mobile phones, providing more consumers with real-time access to the queuing status at a certain time, such as "nobody is queuing", "five or fewer persons are queuing" and "six to ten persons are queuing", with no need to be physically there. This is the latest feature offered by Dianping.com's new Mobile Client 4.5.

The Mobile Client 4.5 for Dianping.com enhances LBS (location-based services) applications with several new features such as "Mobile Check-in & Queue" and "Dish Recommendations (with photo)", which apply to both the iPhone and Android platforms. According to Dianping.com, the "Mobile Check-in & Queue" service is currently limited to restaurants listed on the website, but will be extended according to consumers' feedback, while "Dish Recommendations (with photo)" is a more considerate service which enables consumers to choose their favorite restaurant by looking at the intuitional pictures of the dishes recommended.

Food trendsetter Mr. Zhang experienced the Mobile Check-in & Queue service before everybody else. He accessed to the Mobile Client 4.5 for Dianping.com and clicked the "Mobile Check-in" at the time when he was lining up for a dinner at the doorway of a popular restaurant. He took a picture for the chow line and then chose the option "Release Queue Information", at the same time he also shared the information on his Sina mini blog. Immediately, the picture and related information were seen by other customers on the PC and Mobile platforms for Dianping.com as well as other Sina mini bloggers.

With the combination of LBS features and local city life and consumer information services, the Mobile Client of Dianping.com continued to improve, allowing consumers to meet their living demands anytime and anywhere. On August 30 of this year, Dianping.com announced that it will increase its investment in overall availability of the Mobile Client, as mobile internet has emerged as a growth priority of Dianping.com in the future.
