MACAU, Feb. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Galaxy Macau™ received a total of six Star Ratings today when the highly respected international Forbes Travel Guide officially unveiled its annual Star Rating list for 2015. The top 4- and 5-star ratings were given to all three of the resort's hotels namely Galaxy Hotel, Banyan Tree Macau and Hotel Okura Macau, as well as two signature restaurants Terrazza Italian Restaurant and Belon, and the Banyan Tree Spa. "Since opening, Galaxy Macau has set the standards as a truly integrated resort destination in Macau, offering unlimited experiences for guests from around the world. These awards from an organization as respected as the Forbes Travel Guide underline the depth and quality of the amenities we have, and the unique appeal of our 'World Class, Asian Heart' service," said Mr. Kevin Clayton, Chief Marketing Officer of Galaxy Entertainment Group. "The opening of Phase 2 and Broadway Macau on 27 May 2015 will add three more world-class hotels, namely The Ritz Carlton, Macau, the JW Marriott Hotel Macau and Broadway Macau. Galaxy Macau's collection of quality restaurants, bars and lounges will be increased to over 120. We will also open The Promenade featuring over 200 outlets from high-street brands and flagship stores to designer boutiques. Expanding to over 75,000 square meters, Galaxy Macau's Grand Resort Deck will feature the new Skytop Adventure Rapids with the world's longest skytop aquatic adventure river ride at 575 meters. All of which I am confident will continue to delight our guests in the future."
Among the resort's hotels, the luxurious Galaxy Hotel received a 4-star rating with the guide highlighting the signature 'World Class, Asian Heart' service, noting "this ethos can be seen clearly in its gracious Asian ambassadors who will warmly greet you with a hand on their hearts." The refined and elegant Hotel Okura Macau was also rated 4-star; while the exclusive all-suite Banyan Tree Macau was awarded the top 5-star rating for a third year.
Galaxy Macau has become known as a foodie heaven, boasting the widest selection of Asian and international cuisine under one roof in Macau. These culinary delights range from Michelin-recommended fine dining to family buffet favorites and the best of street food from around the region. Not surprisingly, the Forbes Travel Guide focused in the high end, awarding Terrazza Italian Restaurant 4 stars for its menu built around the finest seasonal ingredients and genuine Italian flavors complemented by a great wine selection. Belon situated in a stunning location at 31st floor of Banyan Tree Macau has received 5 stars for its Signature Grill with premium seafood, interactive culinary experience and innovative contemporary dishes..
Banyan Tree Macau's very own "Sanctuary for the Senses", the multi-award-winning Banyan Tree Spa received the ultimate 5-star rating, which the guide describes are for properties that "wow you with extraordinary design and facilities, and uncompromising service". This combination of 5-star hotel, restaurant and spa has made Banyan Tree Macau one of only 10 Forbes Travel Guide triple 5-star properties in the world!
The Forbes Travel Guide began in 1958 as the Mobil Travel Guide and has since become a benchmark for excellence in the travel and hospitality industry. The awards are extremely well regarded because they are decided by a team of professional inspectors who anonymously test every aspect of a property's experience to determine the rating, which makes Galaxy Macau's wide representation in the 2015 listings especially impressive.
