April's seamless pipe market continued its rising trend, with mid- to late April buoyed by new real estate regulations and the U.S. levy of a 32%-98% anti-dumping duty on domestic seamless. According to an Frbiz report, as at April 23, the average price for 108 * 4.5mm seamless pipe was 5,640 yuan, up 340 yuan over the same period the previous month, including Shenyang and Shanghai rose obviously, rising 400-500 yuan per month, while in Beijing, Xi'an, Wuhan and other regions saw a basic monthly rise of 250-350 yuan.
The steel market in May enjoys its peak season, with a growing number of sites, so the steel demand sees a sustained improvement. The steel market price is expected to continue rising. However, in recent months, seamless pipe production has been at a high level, and exports are still much lower than the same period in previous years, together with the United States imposed anti-dumping duties, the short term will see increased pressure on the market, restricted by the high stock prices and limited space.
China's domestic seamless pipe market, after the climb in April, has seen price rises slow down, and the market shows a slightly higher situation. The market situation of too few resources has no improvement, the current control plant cut production, limited production situation has not improved price. Frbiz expects that in May, the seamless pipe market will be stable.
