BEIJING, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Frbiz.com, one of China's leading B2B search platforms, reports vegetable prices could rise again.

Frbiz has learned that the supply of vegetables is abundant in supermarkets, but prices have generally risen over 20 percent. It is understood that the vegetable's prices rise this time is not only due to seasonal factors, but also the impact of disasters and cold waves, which have come in from the north.

Frbiz's agriculture data show that refined grain, cooking oil, meat, and milk prices have remained generally stable, while vegetable, freshwater fish, and fruit prices have experienced slight fluctuations. Egg prices have risen slightly.

Prices have declined for six kinds of vegetables. Cucumber, celery and rapeseed prices declined 1.5 percent, 1.3 percent and 1.2 percent respectively, some other products' prices have dropped around 0.8 percent; prices are up one percent or less for cabbage, onions, spinach and beans; lettuce, radish and potato prices have remained stable.

As temperatures rise in China's central and eastern regions, prices of vegetables, especially cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, melons, and eggplant have rebound slightly (http://frbiz.com/catalog/01480000/vegetable_seeds.html ). However, the cold weather will coming again which will affect Xinjiang, and thereafter will gradually affect the northwest, north China, northeast China, as well as most parts of the south. It is expected that prices of vegetables will fluctuate in the next week.
