Fushi Copperweld Extends Worldwide License With Nexans

BEIJING, Feb. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- Fushi Copperweld, Inc. (Nasdaq: FSIN), the leading manufacturer and innovator of copper-clad bimetallic engineered conductor products for electrical, telecommunications, transportation, utilities and industrial applications, today announced an 11-year extension of  its license agreement with Nexans Deutschland GmbH, a subsidiary of French cable maker Nexans SA. (listed on the NYSE Euronext Paris).

Under the terms of the renewed license agreement, Fushi Copperweld obtained the extension of the  worldwide license rights granted by Nexans for certain patents and proprietary manufacturing technology related to the production of bimetallic rods and wire.  The agreement, originally scheduled to expire in 2015, is now extended up until  2026.
