Gulf Resources Announces Extension of Form 10-Q Filing

SHANDONG, China, May 11, 2011 -- Gulf Resources, Inc. (Nasdaq: GFRE) ("Gulf Resources" or the "Company"), a leading manufacturer of bromine, crude salt and specialty chemical products in China, today announced that it will file Form 12b-25 with the Securities and Exchange Commission on May 10, 2011 to extend the filing of the Company's Form 10-Q for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 for up to an additional five calendar days.

The Company is filing for an extension due to the auditor requiring additional time to compile the essential information for the preparation of the financial statements and the Company's audit committee requiring additional time to review the 10-Q. The extension grants the Company until May 16, 2011 to file its Form 10-Q. Complying with this deadline deems the Form 10-Q to be timely filed.
