In 2013, the plaintiffs filed a lawsuit against Hikvision alleging that Hikvision's products infringed U.S. Patent No. 5,751,346. As a result, the plaintiffs sought voluntarily dismissal with prejudice of all claims against Hikvision and agreed to never again assert a claim against Hikvision, its customers, or end-users pertaining to the patent in question. In addition, the costs associated with the case were awarded to Hikvision.
