Honeywell's Mark Howes Wins China Aerospace Laureate Award

SHANGHAI, Sept. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Mark Howes, President of Honeywell (NYSE: HON) Aerospace's Asia-Pacific region, won the "Leadership Excellence Award" at the China Aerospace Laureate Awards Ceremony held on September 21, 2011, at Aviation Expo 2011 in Beijing. The awards are organized by the China Aviation Media Group, China Aviation News and Aviation Week. 

Howes is the first non-Chinese citizen to receive the prestigious China Aerospace Laureate Award in its seven-year history. Howes' strategic vision and firm understanding of China's aviation industry as well as emphasis on the need for comprehensive and cooperative partnership have resulted in Honeywell's strong market performance, localization and leadership in China, according to the organizers..

Howes joined Honeywell in 1980, and has led different business segments in the company. In 2007, he was made the president of Honeywell Aerospace APAC.

Howes' visionary leadership has helped elevate the Chinese aviation industry to a strategic position in Asia by focusing on the promotion of safety, efficiency and modernization of air traffic in the country. Introduced in 2005, the China Aerospace Laureate Awards are considered China's highest honor for aviation and aerospace, recognizing organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions to the industry.
