The opportunities result from an initiative between Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation and partner companies to nurture technology leaders of tomorrow.

The openings at Hong Kong's leading science and technology hub are in the fields including integrated circuits and electronics; telecommunications and information technology; optoelectronics and precision engineering; biotechnology and life sciences; and environmental protection and energy conservation.

The home to more than 200 technology leaders is firmly focused on playing a leading role as a major international centre of technology and innovation within China. Attracting talent in Mainland China is part of its mission to be the leading centre for science and technology development in Hong Kong.

Aspiring talent from Mainland China can find ample opportunities to embark on an exciting career on a fast track in the fast-growing science and technology industry in Hong Kong and China.

Rapid development of the focus clusters is spurring Science Park's partner companies to actively recruit engineers and talent of all backgrounds from mainland China, including graduates and student interns. Opportunities abound for mainland job-seekers in engineering, computer science and other disciplines to join a growing community of mainland talent.

Beijing engineering student James Jia Bo-liang, an intern during university studies in Hong Kong, commended the experience. He said: "Work-study experience at Hong Kong Science Park has built up my perspective and preparation for a future career.

"I quickly adapted to working with a team of Hong Kong engineers, and believe the internship experience will help me find a career on graduation, either in Hong Kong or back home in Beijing."

For ease of transport for recruits from just across the border, shuttle buses run several times a day between the Science Park and Shenzhen. The park is located beside Tolo Harbour, between Shatin and Tai Po on the East Rail line linking Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
