Five events at one location make for unprecedented synergies

BEIJING, Nov.19, 2010 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The press conference of the Industrial Materials China 2011 organized by Reed Exhibitions China and the partnership contract signing ceremony were grandly held in Beijing. The event, long concerned by the industry professionals, was finally unveiled to the public. Leaders from China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association, Beijing Antaike Information Development Co., Ltd., International Copper Association, China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association Recycling Metal Branch, and Wood Plastic Composites Committee of China Association of Resources Comprehensive Utilization, and representatives of the event organizer attended the press conference and the contract signing ceremony. The exhibition will be staged at Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) from July 13 to 15, 2011, the same location and time with Aluminum China 2011, which has been successfully held for 6 editions.

Mr. Chen Yuanpeng, VP of Greater China Region, Reed Exhibitions China, stated that Industrial Materials China 2011 will cover the four major areas of copper, magnesium, composites, and renewable resources & utilization, which are to be independently operated under four brands. Liu Jia, Secretary General of Wood Plastic Composites Committee, Zheng Jiaju, General Manager of Beijing Antaike Information Development Co., Ltd., and Zhou Sheng, President of China and Southeast Asia Region, International Copper Association, delivered key-note speeches at the press conference. After the speeches, Beijing Antaike Information Development Co., Ltd., China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association Recycling Metal Branch, and Wood Plastic Composites Committee of China Association of Resources Comprehensive Utilization separately signed a partnership agreement with Reed Exhibitions China, proclaiming their full support and all-around guidance for the event next year. The three organizations will cooperate with the Cooper China 2011, the Renewable Resources & Utilization Exhibition, and the Composites China 2011 under the collective brand of the Industrial Materials China 2011, respectively.

Mr. Zheng from Antike said, "The non-ferrous metal industry is growing fast, pulled by the take-off of the national economy. However, how to maintain this sound and sustained development momentum has become the practical concern for the association and various enterprises. Whilst independent innovations in technologies and products are important, it has always been one of the key development strategies for the non-ferrous metal industry and industrial materials industry in China to learn from overseas development modes and to introduce advanced technologies and equipments. With exhibitions being the medium for accelerating the global industry chain integration, domestic trade associations can provide domestic enterprises with access to international resources and the opportunities for promoting industry development through the cooperation with world-leading exhibition organizers."

Mr. Zhou Sheng from the International Copper Association emphasized that "China, as the largest consumer of copper in the world, accounts for 30% of total global demand. China's internal demand has always been in the spotlight of the market. The copper industry in China will develop in the following three directions: 1. Accelerated restructuring progress and establishing large-size copper groups; 2. Speeding up the prosperity and development of mineral resources to improve the self-sufficiency degree of raw materials; 3. The copper processing industry has to take the road of technological innovation. Under such circumstances, resources and technological equipment have become the unbeatable weapon for the global copper enterprises to fight for market share and development space. Leveraging Reed Exhibitions' professional experiences and the abundant resources and vast network of its subsidiaries and international publicity partners all over 93 countries and regions, Cooper China 2011 provides the copper production and processing enterprise in China and in the whole world at large an international face-to-face communication platform, by integrating advantageous resources of the upper and lower copper industry chains, related equipment & echnology suppliers, and relevant application fields."

In addition to the cooperation with trade associations, Reed Exhibitions will also stage a series of copper road shows before the event, including a road show for Cooper China 2011 from November 7 to 8, in Shenzhen, under the theme of "Air Conditioner Pipe Fittings," where industry experts and business representatives will be invited to discuss and share views with each other.

Traditional industry materials are undergoing a transformation to new type industry materials featuring environment-friendliness, renewability, and less pollution. Liu Jia, Secretary General of Wood Plastic Composites Committee emphasized that "Wood plastic composites feature higher environment-friendliness and economic strength. First of all, the use of wood plastic composites means protection for forest resources. Currently, China's annual timber demand is about 100 million cubic meters. The actual supply stands at only 60 million cubic meters, with a gap of 40 million cubic meters. Use of each ton of wood plastic composites means saving 1 mu (0.0667 hectares) of forest from felling. Secondly, utilization of wastes. For this alone, 1 million tons of waste plastics and over 1.5 million tons of plant scraps can be consumed every year." Liu Jia continued, "This is the first time for Wood Plastic Composites Committee to cooperate with an international exhibition organizer. We choose Reed Exhibitions for its powerful international background and strength. We wish to increase the public awareness of wood plastic composites through Composites China 2011, and to help domestic enterprises trade with foreign counterparts and access the latest oversea technologies.

Energy-saving, low carbon footprint and sustainable development are among the important contents of China's 12th Five-Year Plan. With the increasingly severe crisis in resources and energy today, renewable resources and utilization across the whole world have been increasingly under the spotlight of all walks of life. The renewable metal and utilization industry in China keeps in high alignment with the international market and imports a huge volume of metal scraps from oversea markets every year. Green Processing China 2011, under the cooperation between Reed Exhibitions and China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association Recycling Metal Branch, will provide unprecedented international cooperation opportunities for the renewable metal and utilization businesses in China, thus to upgrade the Chinese renewable metal industry to a new level, to reach or approach the advanced international level for their key technological equipment, and to further raise various technical and economic indices.

At the press conference, Mr. Chen Yuanpeng, VP of Greater China Region, Reed Exhibitions China, said, "As the only professional industrial materials trade fair in Asia, the Industrial Materials China 2011 is expected to attract more than 150 exhibitors from over 20 countries and regions, and more than 4000 trade buyers from China, Asia and other regions of the world." The International Copper Association will highlight in multiple forms the irreplaceable role that copper plays in such areas as improving living and developing cutting-edge technologies. China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association Recycling Metal Branch, on the other hand, will organize its members to actively participate in the theme pavilion of "Green Processing China 2011," and has confirmed that it will once again hold the International Forum on Renewable Metals in tandem with the exhibition next year. Mr. Chen said, "The exhibition aims to create an excellent exchange platform for both suppliers and buyers from the upper and lower steams of the industrial chains. At present, the preparation work for the event is being carried out in full swing."
