26th IAF World Apparel Convention coincides with fair

Placing the convention alongside Asia's most well known industry trade fair also attracted strong industry support from new IAF members, China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Textiles (CCCT). This illustrates the pivotal role Hong Kong continues to play in bridging mainland China to the rest of the fashion industry as well as the relevancy of Asia's longest standing industry trade fair -- Interstoff Asia Essential.

Aside from major mainland Chinese industry support, government officials from Hong Kong as well as top level international executives will commence the opening ceremony on 6 October 2010.  These include:

  • Mr Vassilis Masselos, President for the International Apparel Federation
  • Ms Rita Lau Ng Wai-lan, JP, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, HKSAR
  • Mr Wang Shenyang, Chairman of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles
  • Mr Willy Lin, Chairman for the Textile Council Hong Kong
  • Mr Detlef Braun, Member of the Board of Management for Messe Frankfurt GmbH
  • Mr Leung Wai Ping, Executive Director for Li & Fung (Trading) Ltd

In addition to these speakers, a keynote address will be given by Mr John Cheh, Vice Chairman and CEO for Esquel Group Limited as well as some 30 seminars hosted by a variety of professionals from a range of industry backgrounds.
