Ku6 Achieves Record Traffic Data during World Cup

2010-07-21 20:39 2034
BEIJING, July 21 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Ku6, one of China's leading online media websites, announced on June 16, 2010 that its coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup peaked at about 399.3 million daily page views and about 52.6 million daily unique visitors during the world's most popular sporting event. CR-Nielsen provided the data on page views, which are measured by the number of requests to load a single HTML file ('page') of a website, and on unique visitors, which are measured by the number of unique visitors to a website.

CR-Nielsen data also shows that Ku6 achieved an average daily page views of about 303.2 million, average daily unique visitors of about 34.4 million and average daily video views of about 227.7 million during the 32 days event.

As the only video site in China with the exclusive rights for live coverage of the World Cup event from CNTV, China Network Television, Ku6 was able to significantly drive up its daily page views and daily unique visitors. Ku6.com also supplemented that live coverage with additional attractive contents such as extensive original programming and the first internet reality show in China, which allowed viewers to experience the World Cup interactively through internet and have a broader range of experience than would have been available from only television coverage.

In addition to record numbers of viewers, Ku6 attracted 52 major advertisers to its website during the World Cup. Mr. Kevin (Shanyou) Li, Ku6's Chief Executive Officer, said, "Given our new record for both page views and unique visitors during the World Cup, plus 52 major advertisers who placed their ads on our Ku6.com website during the World Cup broadcasts, we hope to extend this recent success to grow our market position for our internet platform that features both online videos and advertising."
