"The Olympic flame will be as bright in 10 years' time as it is now," Lord Sebastian Coe.

The five minute video, which features key figures including the Mayor of London Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister's chief legacy advisor Lord Sebastian Coe, six time Olympic gold medal cyclist Sir Chris Hoy and eleven time Paralympic gold medallist Baroness Tanni Grey Thompson, tells the story of how London is benefiting from hosting the Games less than 12 months on from the Paralympic Closing Ceremony.

The film examines the headline legacy achievements of the London 2012 Games - "One Year On", and recounts the tears and triumphs of competitors and spectators during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Some of the key themes highlighted include the regeneration of East London, the development of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and the raised awareness of disabilities and the positive changes fostered by the success of the Paralympic Games. The film also illustrates how children today and in the future will benefit from a new sporting legacy - improved facilities, coaching and mentoring.

London Mayor Boris Johnson said: "I think the Olympic Games were such a success they gripped people in a way we never expected. It's the most emotionally engaging thing we have ever done as a nation. We're achieving an incredible physical legacy from the Games."

The five minute film was shown for the first time last night to guests at a celebratory Olympic and Paralympic Games anniversary reception at London's Guildhall - Wednesday 24th July 2013.

The film will be shown at the start of a press conference hosted by Mayor Johnson in front of national and international media at 2pm today -Thursday 25th July 2013. It will be free for media to distribute and broadcast. The film will also be translated into Portugese and Mandarin.

Media will be able to access and download by FTP on demand.
