#MYCYBERSALE is an initiative under Digital Malaysia to catalyse the growth of the eCommerce industry.  eCommerce is an important contributor to the digital economy and eTailing is a fast-growing component within this industry. #MYCYBERSALE 2015 aims to increase the domestic eCommerce revenue by encouraging SMEs to be part of eCommerce ecosystem and generating online shopping demand from consumers.

The first #MYCYBERSALE in 2014 generated RM67million in revenue from 227,000 successful transactions, with over 200% increase in online traffic reported by participating eTailers.

"Given the great response last year and seeing how #MYCYBERSALE was also able to transform consumer lifestyle, as well as the way of doing business, #MYCYBERSALE 2015 is bigger and better to continue growing the eCommerce industry and bringing the ecosystem together to embrace the Digital Malaysia agenda," said Dato' Yasmin Mahmood, the CEO of MDeC.

#MYCYBERSALE 2015 is working with 8 premium partners such as VISA, DiGi, and Maybank for promotions as well as Telekom Malaysia (TM), POS Malaysia, 57square, eGentic, and MilkADeal: Cashback as the industry partners. This year's sale hosts over 400 participating eTailers including those outside the Klang Valley, such as from Sabah, Sarawak, Johor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan. This shows more than 40% increase of participating eTailers, compared to 2014.  More popular eMarketplaces, such as 11street.my, GEMFIVE, Go Shop, Qoo10 and Agrobazaar have also joined the line-up this year, alongside Lazada, Zalora, Lelong.my, Rakuten and Groupon who continue to support this Digital Malaysia initiative.

#MYCYBERSALE 2015 is also expanding to target regional shoppers, specifically from Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia.  To cater for these bigger markets and to allow longer shopping period, #MYCYBERSALE 2015 is extended to 5 days, compared to only 3 days last year.  Maybank and Visa will also assist to reach the target consumers as #MYCYBERSALE 2015 official promotion partners. Exclusive and exciting deals up to 90% discounts on a wide range of products; including clothes & accessories, kid & baby, home & living, books & media, health & beauty, electronics, travel and more, await the shoppers throughout 28 Sept - 2 Oct 2015. Lucky draw contests will also be conducted throughout the sale period to appreciate and reward supportive eShoppers with attractive and bigger prizes (worth more than RM50,000) this year.

In order to enhance the shopping experience and convenience of the growing number of mobile shoppers, MDeC is also introducing the #MYCYBERSALE App, which is available for download on Google Play Store and Apple iStore starting from 21 Sept 2015.

#MYCYBERSALE 2015 is endorsed and governed by the Ministry of Communications & Multimedia (KKMM) and regulators such as the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism (KPDNKK) which oversees the overall e-commerce Act, regulation and buyer protection; the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM), which oversees regulations around communication and multimedia; SMECorp which governs the participation of Malaysian SMEs; and CyberSecurity Malaysia which oversees the  e-commerce and cyberspace security, code of conduct and trust.

Today, both MSC Malaysia and Digital Malaysia run concurrently to spur Malaysia's ICT industry development and digital transformation, under the purview of MDeC.
