ZURICH, Switzerland, Sept. 18 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- From 1 November 2008, Martin Bachmann (46) takes over as CEO of the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer Maurice Lacroix. For the last seven years Martin Bachmann has already been involved significantly in the positive development of Maurice Lacroix as executive board member responsible for the divisions Marketing/Country Operations.

Martin Bachmann: "I am really looking forward to the new challenge as CEO. In recent years Maurice Lacroix has made the leap into the league of Swiss manufacture brands. Together with my management team, it is my goal to continue this successful strategy. In so doing, we will, in particular, build on our innovative strength and creativity with which we also intend to inspire our customers in the coming years."

Martin Bachmann's successor for the position of Director of Sales/Country Operations is 40-year-old Marc Glaser, who returns to the brand after four years; marketing will report to Sandro Reginelli on the executive level.

About Maurice Lacroix

Since launching its first watch in 1975, Maurice Lacroix has evolved to become a sought-after manufacture brand known for its complex movements. Since the beginning of the 1990s it has focused on developing attractive additional options with elaborate, surprising mechanisms. Important milestones in the brand's history include Maurice Lacroix's 2003 Masterpiece Double Retrograde, with a highly complex mechanism for the two retrograde displays developed entirely in-house, as well as the design of a three-quarter-plate bridge in 2005, first used for the Masterpiece Lune Retrograde. Its high-quality manufacture movements and the production of complex components for mechanical calibers propelled Maurice Lacroix into the rank of an exclusive Swiss watch manufacturer at the end of 2006. It achieved another coup with the launch of Memoire 1, the first mechanical watch with a memory function, officially presented at Baselworld 2008.

Maurice Lacroix is one of the few independent watch manufacturers and has around 300 employees worldwide, about 200 of whom are located at its international headquarters in Zurich and its production sites in Saignelegier and Montfaucon in Switzerland.
