Hilton Shanghai Hongqiao become the official hotel of the 61st Miss World China Pageant

SHANGHAI, Aug. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The highly anticipated Miss World China 2011 finals kicked off on Aug. 15th at the Hilton Shanghai Hongqiao.

The year's contest is endorsed by Nanfang Media Group, sponsored by Wuxi Municipal People's Government and Yuan Yi Group, owner of Hilton Shanghai Hongqiao and co-organized by 21st Century News Media.

Miss World China 2011 contestants will appear in Shanghai, Huangshan and Wuxi during the finals, with the winner to be crowned in Wuxi live on Guangdong TV Station on September 12 during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Mobile TV and video platform CNLive.com will record from inside the Miss World camp, providing a behind-the-scenes glimpse of contestants as they prepare for the last leg of their journey of dreams, while Sina Weibo, the country's largest microblogging platform, will provide live updates.

Hilton Shanghai Hongqiao General Manager Brice Pean, Nanfang Media Group Deputy Director Qiu Kejun, Organizing Committee Chief Secretary and General Manager of Shanghai Century Song International Cultural & Media Co, Ltd Wang Dong, Yuan Yi Group Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer Chen Fang will attend the final ceremony.

Miss World

Under the slogan "Love, Green and Happiness", the pageant organizer will host the most special major beauty contest in history. The winner of the final will, on behalf of young Chinese women, compete for the Miss World Crown in London in November.
