With the participation of innovative companies in the Sciences, Technology Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) sectors and with a focus on gaming, robotics, and the mobile ecosystem, YoMo looks set to take the mobile and technology industry by storm.
Inspiring, entertaining and educating young people, this fantastic and one-of-a-kind exhibition event is FREE for young people with RSVP at http://www.mwcshanghai.cn/yomo/.
YoMo will be held at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center from June 29th to July 1st 2016, 9am to 5pm. The event will attract over 6,000 young people aged from 10 to 18 years old and will feature a wide range of activities including workshops, theatre shows and deep dive interactive learning experiences that will engage, educate, enthrall and excite.
YoMo: today's opportunity, tomorrow's future
The mobile communications revolution is driving the world's major technology breakthroughs. From wearable devices to connected cars and homes, mobile technology is at the heart of worldwide innovation.
YoMo is designed as an awareness and outreach program to equip young people with the mobile centric digital skills needed to pursue their careers in the STEAM sector / mobile ecosystem. Not only educational, YoMo is a place for the youth to get inspired for the future path of their career. As such, YoMo will be a hands-on, highly interactive and engaging event giving the opportunity to students to experience classroom learning to life.
YoMo: bringing classroom learning to life
YoMo will be full of fun interactive workshops and activities free to join thanks to the supporters that will be at the exhibition event. Fab Lab will provide deep-dive works hops educating participants on the fundamental knowledge of VR, Makey Makey Music Installations and many more.
Two shows direct from Europe will be showcased for the first time in China. The disruptive power of 3D Printing will reveal how 3D printing is transforming the world around us. Skate Science will demonstrate the power of the 'Internet of Things' unraveling the stats behind flips, tricks and ollies on a board. Our interactive show floor will have tutorials to educate our attendees on how to assemble and build robots by Amazing Robot Gallery, Robo Terra, and Timon Studio; this will definitely be a great hands-on learning experience.
Not to mention the hottest technology of Virtual Reality, there will be cool VR technology for our young attendees to try and play with by Shadow Creator. Wonderlabs Studio will display a VR biking experience: youth will have the chance to be immersed in a virtual environment with VR glasses while riding a physical bike.
Drone technology will also be at YoMo as Elanview Technology will provide the newest models of drones and show attendees how they fly and work on site.
Special guests and Xinchejian members will be hosting must see workshops on our show floor. Alec Walker's workshops will educate on gaming designs and participants will be able to design and present their own games.
Eduardo Alarcon's workshops will focus on basics of robotics and will provide an egg drop contest which will challenge students to use team spirit and creativity designing and building their own lander in which a raw-egg will serve as a payload that must survive an increasing high drop, just as a real NASA lander would on the Moon, Mars or an Asteroid. Teams must build their planetary landers constructed of all forms of aluminum, plastic, wood or soft foam.
MentorVerse will inspire, educate, and mentor the youth on the importance of education in their future and how to pursue their dreams.
YoMo: exploring beyond imagination
Not only will YoMo be educational it will be meaningful as well, thanks to inspirational partners like TOMS. TOMS is the "live the give" brand that is committed to purpose maximization: By giving, you help other people's lives and you give significance to yours.
The inspiring shoe company will provide activities for participants such as TOMS barefoot walking areas and TOMS VR giving experience. People can stand on barefoot areas where they will be immersed in a 360 degrees' virtual reality environment (a giving trip to Peru) to really understand kids living conditions.
Attendees will have the chance to spend time with children receiving shoes in a complete VR environment and will understand why a pair of shoes is that important for them. TOMS will also have a "style the socks" station where the young people can paint on socks and paper soles provided by TOMS to boost their creativity with encouraging messages to their peers in need.
Last but not least, a socks wall will be set up for the closing day -- TOMS giving partners will donate these painted socks with shoes to disadvantaged children.
Many more activities and workshops are planned, so don't miss out!
