BEIJING, June 2, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- NetQin Mobile Inc. ("NetQin" or the "Company") (NYSE: NQ), a leading provider of consumer-centric mobile security and productivity applications, today formally commented on certain public allegations of fraudulent practices by NetQin and by Beijing Feiliu Jiutian Technology Co., Ltd. (“Beijing Feiliu”), a company in which NetQin holds a 33% equity interest.
After the initial allegation, Beijing Feiliu submitted its two versions of the download software in question for testing and certification by the PRC State Information Center Software Testing Center (SICSTC), a national-level certification organization established by China's National Development and Reform Commission. According to the formal certification issued by the SICSTC on March 23, Beijing Feiliu's software meets all SICSTC testing requirements and contains none of the malicious functions previously alleged, such as the bundling or automatic downloading of malware or other third-party applications to promote the Company's security products.
Beijing Feiliu also submitted its download software for testing and verification by the Computer Technology Security Test Center (CTSTC), a security test center established by China's Ministry of Industry & Information Technology (MIIT). After thorough testing of the software, the CTSTC concluded on April 1 that Beijing Feiliu's download software installs normally, uninstalls completely, and that no additional applications were automatically downloaded or otherwise bundled with the installed application.
