HONG KONG, March 23 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Network expansion continued: Birkart Globistics air + ocean, the international logistics provider, has opened two new branches in Southeast Asia -- in Cebu City, Philippines, and Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The Thiel subsidiary is now positioned worldwide with 86 of its own branches.
At the beginning of 2007, Birkart Globistics Philippines opened a new branch. In addition to the existing location in Manila, Birkart is now represented in Cebu. The region is among the most dynamic commercial centres in the Philippines. International companies belonging to different industries such as electronics and textiles are located there.
In addition to its activity in the Philippines, Birkart is also continuing its course of expansion in Malaysia and is opening its fourth branch in Johor Bahru, the capital of the federal state of Johor, in March. Strategically located at the southern tip of the Malaysian peninsula, across the strait from Singapore, Johor Bahru is an important industrial and commercial hub.
