- Network expansion in preparation for Datsun launch

JAKARTA, Indonesia, Aug. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- PT. Nissan Motor Indonesia (NMI) today announced the appointment of PT. Mitra Pinasthika Mustika Tbk. (MPM) as their dealership partner to provide additional access and improved global service standards to Nissan and future Datsun customers. The further expansion of Nissan's dealer network will accommodate the increasing demand for Nissan products as well as the introduction of the legendary Datsun brand, which will be available in 2014.

Regional Vice President and NMI President Director Takayuki Kimura said, "Nissan is committed to meet the expectations of Indonesia's customers and its market growth. The partnership with an experienced company such as MPM will further encourage growth of both the Nissan and Datsun brands in Indonesia. This relationship will strengthen our sales capabilities and I believe it is a win-win relationship for Nissan, Indomobil and MPM."

Founded in 1987, MPM is one of the nation's diversified automotive players and a member of the Saratoga Group, one of the most successful investment companies in Indonesia. MPM launched its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in May 2013 to help fund its positive growth momentum. The company has recorded double-digit financial growth over the past three years and has expanded its nationwide footprint to over 435 service points.

NMI's manufacturing capacity will expand to 180,000 units per year by the end of 2013 with the completion of the new plant in Purwakarta, West Java. MPM's appointment plays an important role to expand the sales network and market additional production volume. In accordance with the global target set in Nissan's Power 88 mid-term plan, NMI aims to increase the number of outlets significantly from the 96 outlets currently operated by Indomobil and its partners today. Indomobil and its partners are continuously committed to expanding the Nissan/Datsun network in the future. Thus, their outlets will cover approximately 80% (130-160 outlets) of the total Nissan/Datsun network nationwide while MPM will cover approximately 20%
