The platform will link up those in need with those who could assist, anytime and anywhere, by which precious time is optimised for all parties, and the benefits of early access to care is realised. To kick start the platform, BookDoc will focus on corporate clients who wish to connect and unite their employees with panel clinics and hospitals to help improve workforce productivity, optimise health benefit cost, automate HR processes coupled with data analytics for better management of staff. Companies will receive an analytic dashboard that provides an overview of their staffs' health seeking patterns to have a better understanding of staff's medical needs for more relevant staff benefits, and more productive negotiation for staff insurance coverage. Companies can also directly update panel clinics/hospitals in-app, saving time (since employees no longer need to seek HR's assistance for panel doctor information) and reducing chances of employees' claims not being reimbursed due to changes in panel providers. At the same time, companies will be able to update their list of employees entitled to such medical benefits in a timely manner, reducing the likelihood of inaccurate claims.

About BookDoc

Founder Dato' Chevy Beh, first came up with the idea for BookDoc after his good friend Wayne's near-death experience with Dengue Fever. When Wayne first began to feel ill, he underwent blood testing at his doctor's office and was sent home with negative results. His fever receded, leading him to believe that he was on the road to recovery, but three days later his condition suddenly took a turn for the worse. When he went to see his usual General Practitioner, Wayne was told that he had to go to the hospital immediately.

While enduring the long wait at the hospital to be admitted, Wayne noticed that his gums started bleeding and he began to feel drastically ill. Panicked, Wayne gave Beh a call and luckily Beh was able to arrange for Wayne's immediate admission. The attending physician mentioned that had Wayne been admitted any later, his life would have been at risk.

Inspired by his close friend's near-death experience and being a seasoned player in the healthcare industry, Beh pledged to do something to address the inefficiencies and information asymmetries in healthcare. He founded BookDoc with the goal of improving the timeliness of diagnosis and helping patients to find appropriate care.

BookDoc, backed by a diverse group of investors from entrepreneurs to seasoned healthcare and insurance professionals, banker, regulators as well as ICT professionals, has recently raised millions of US dollars helping the company to be the highest pre-seed valuation in Asia tech app history.

The initial investors includes Danny Yeung - founder of Groupon Hong Kong and the former CEO Groupon East Asia, Datuk Yvonne Chia - former CEO of Hong Leong Bank Berhad, Kenny Thing- Chief Marketing Officer of Manulife Insurance Berhad, Dato Sharil Tarmizi - former Chairman of Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Dato Dr Maimunah - the former Deputy Director General of Health Malaysia, Dato Syed Budriz Putra - founder and former CEO of Sepang Aircraft Engineering which is an Airbus Group Company and Lee Mean Yeit - former Head of Strategy of Sime Darby Healthcare.
