LONDON, Feb. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- OnApp has launched the latest version of its cloud management platform for service providers. The new capabilities join the growing range of products that service providers can sell with OnApp, enabling them to switch focus away from basic infrastructure management to selling value-added services that help them compete.

The new version of OnApp is available today via http://onapp.com/42, and is a free upgrade for existing OnApp customers.

OnApp CEO, Ditlev Bredahl, said: "We've already automated the core orchestration, management, provisioning and billing functions that cloud services depend on. If those basic infrastructure management functions aren't already fully automated, you're doing them with the wrong platform. What service providers need to focus on now is the value-added services they can offer on top of their infrastructure - the services their customers need, which help them compete."

Highlights of today's release include:

OnApp DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service), a real-time replication and restore product for mission-critical workloads hosted in OnApp clouds. Using OnApp's distributed storage technology it makes enterprise-class DR affordable for cloud providers and SME customers, for the first time.

OnApp Accelerator, a new way for cloud users to accelerate web applications and content hosted in OnApp clouds with a single click. Using a patent-pending content acceleration method, it automatically optimizes OnApp virtual servers and distributes them across OnApp's global network of premium CDN locations, with no configuration or CDN management needed.

"In the last version of OnApp, we introduced application servers, a way for providers to sell one-click SaaS and PaaS to their clients," added Bredahl. "Today we're adding one-click Disaster Recovery and one-click content acceleration - breaking down the entry barriers to technologies that have always been too complex or expensive for most providers to deliver, and most customers to buy."

OnApp v4.2 includes a wide range of other new features and improvements. For more information and demos visit http://onapp.com/42.
