The Only Football App That Allows Fans to Play Their Own Game During the Live Match
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., June 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Football is the world's most popular sport. Now fans can play along on their second screen with OneUp Games' Football Connect, launched for Euro 2012.

OneUp Games' "Connect" line, which also includes Baseball Connect and Basketball Connect, allows sports fans to engage with the action during the match, whether watching in person or on TV. The bingo-type game encourages fans to not only root for their team but for specific actions so they can win their own game played on their mobile device.
Football Connect is also a very social game. Fans can create friend relationships with opponents, contacts and Facebook friends, then invite their friends to private games and see which games they are playing. Players can also direct message their friends in the app.
"We've made a lot of great updates to the Connect games since we first launched and one of the most important is the social element," remarked Trousdell. "We really want our games to be engaging, not only during the actual game, but we want our fans to make a connection with each other as well."
Here's how to play:
Each player starts with a randomly generated GAMEBOARD, containing 16 game squares - eight players and eight different plays that happen during a match, such as RED CARD, GOAL or CROSS KICK. Each game square has a different point value.
Players can rearrange or make changes on their board during the match by using SWAPS and POWER UPS, which include WILDCARD, TRIPLE POINTS and SHIELD game squares. Players can also have moves made against them (or make plays against their competitor) by using WEAPONS, such as DELAY OF GAME, BLOCK and SHUFFLE.
If a play that occurs during a EURO 2012 match is on your gameboard, then that player wins that game square. A CONNECT is made when a player has won four game squares, either four in a row, column or diagonally. The points value on each square is tripled once a connect is made.
The player with the most points at the end of the match wins. Fans collect their points to win fabulous prizes.
Football Connect is available for free download on iTunes for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Five swaps are given free the initial download, with additional swaps available for purchase on iTunes. Players can also win additional swaps during the game.
