BEIJING, Dec. 21 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Perfect World Co., Ltd.

(Nasdaq: PWRD) ("Perfect World" or the "Company"), a leading online game developer and operator in China, today announced that the Company launched closed beta testing (“CBT”) for its war epic game, “Chi Bi,” on December 18, 2007.

Since announcing the launch date of CBT for “Chi Bi,” game players from around the country have been eagerly awaiting the game and the closely related movie “Red Cliff” that was directed by John Wu. CBT servers were operating at full capacity shortly after the launch.

The game’s differentiating features such as “Reputations System”, “Epic Task System”, “Motion Fighting System”, and “Map Exploring System” are providing endless enjoyment to CBT users. Furthermore, the unique “Originality Selecting System” and “18 Legendary Weapons System” have introduced new experiences and even more excitement to game players during this trial period.

“I am very happy that ‘Chi Bi’ has attracted so much attention during CBT,” commented Mr. Michael Chi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Perfect World. “The ‘Three Kingdom Period’ has always been one of the most widely covered historical periods throughout the 5000 years of Chinese history, and the response to our game that is based on this period has been overwhelming. We will modify the content of ‘Chi Bi’ according to the feedback we get during the CBT period to further improve the game. We hope to launch the open beta testing of the game soon so that game players across China can also fully enjoy the enchanting online experience that we have created based on the ‘Three Kingdoms Period’.”
