BEIJING, November 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- One of Princeton University's most talented groups of musicians - Tigertones - brought Keystone Academy's first music night to life with melody and memorable foot-tapping numbers - old and new. This a cappella group - vocals without instruments - sang to a packed audience on October 28th and 30th at the school's Beijing campus. Children and adults were riveted as soon as the group walked on stage, snapped their fingers to the beat, and crooned in rhythmic harmony. The best part of the evening was when the School's own music group from grades 4 and 5 got in tune with the Tigertones.

The highlight of the group's visit was their interaction with Keystone students. In a workshop, The Tigertones helped grades 4 and 5 understand the art of a cappella with a Beatles classic, All My Loving." One of the Tigertones, Will, noted excitedly, "The students were so eager to learn and picked up the song so quickly. One of the students, who picked up the song quicker than the others, then went around teaching his friends. They are so bright!" A cappella is one of the oldest forms of singing with origins in recitation or melodic vocalization of sacred songs. The uniqueness of a cappella singing rose in popularity, and spread across different music genres like rock, pop and others. A cappella entered college campuses in the U.S. in the early 1900s, and has thrived since then. The Tigertones are not only well-known for performing twice at the White House for the Obamas, but also for singing their own rendition of a Beatles song for Sir Paul McCartney himself. As one of the singers introduced the song "Our House," he said, "We sang this song for the Obamas, and President Obama began conducting us. Hope you enjoy it as much too." The audience soaked in this song and other classics, such as "Black Bird," "Scarborough Fair," and "California Dreaming."

As people headed towards the exit, if they were not humming one of the tunes they heard through the evening, they were definitely snapping their fingers to a beat. To see more photos of this event, please click here.
