HONG KONG, June 8 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- The Asia Pacific Office of RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) announces today the appointment of Mr. David Cheung as the Hong Kong Manager. David commenced his duty on 4 June 2007 and will be focusing activities and priorities for membership in Hong Kong. David will also spend much of his time ensuring the range of member services are relevantly and efficiently delivered, building profile for RICS in the sector, maintaining government liaison and growing the membership base in the region.
David comes to RICS following a distinguished career and education background. He had obtained his management degree at the University of London, UK in 1999. David furthered his management study at the University of Queensland, Australia and was awarded a Master degree in Business Management degree in 2001. David is also a Graduate Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries.
David was the Chief Administrative Executive of a local insurance brokers association, a government approved self-regulatory professional body of the insurance industry, since 2003. During his tenure, he was responsible for the daily operation of the Secretariat and coordinated activities of various committees/sub-committees of the association. Before joining the RICS, David was the Service Manager of the Hong Kong branch of an international based medical non-governmental organization. David's background ensured that he is capable of overseeing the management of professional institutions, his intellectual character will add significant value to RICS and strengthen the important role of RICS in the region on the forthcoming years.
