SHENZHEN, China, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) 2009 raised its curtain in Shenzhen at 9:30am on November 16. Zhou Tienong, Vice Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee attended the ceremony and announced its opening, while Bai Lichen, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC, delivered an opening speech. The fair was chaired by Wang Rong, Director of the CHTF Organizing Committee, member of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, and acting Mayor of Shenzhen.

Since its inception in 1999, the CHTF has exerted significant influence in domestic and international technology and industry communities over the past decade. Famed as the "No.1 Technology Show in China," it has become an attractive "city card" of Shenzhen.

Aiming to build up a top-ranking fair brand in line with the philosophy of sustainable innovation, CHTF 2009 has a theme of "Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Development," and is divided into six sections, Commercialization of Technological Innovation, Specialized Shows, Forums, super-SUPER Special Events, Hi-tech Human and Intellectual Resource Exchanges, and the Year-Round Fair. With a total exhibition area of over 100,000 square meters, it boasts strong features of environment-friendliness, regional cooperation and internationalization.

With 26 exhibition groups from 17 countries such as the U.S., Russia, Germany, South Korea, Hungary, Belgium and Finland, the number of participating countries and the scale of CHTF 2009 have reached record highs. Also, such multinationals as Dell and Panasonic, as well as ministers from Finland, Israel and Hungary, and a host of overseas officials, experts and leaders of famed international corporations were invited to attend the fair.
