Steffan Huber appointed as President of Bayer MaterialScience China

SHANGHAI, May 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Bayer MaterialScience, a world's leading supplier of high-tech polymers today announced the appointment of Steffan Huber as the President of Bayer MaterialScience Greater China, effective 1st April, 2015, in a move to speed up shaping the future of the public-to-be company.

Huber, 50, has been working in Bayer for more than 25 years and was until recently the Global Head, Senior Vice President of Business Planning, Strategy and Administration of Polycarbonates Business, one of the three business units of Bayer MaterialScience.

"I've been in Asia for 20 years and fully devoted myself to help drive our businesses in China. For years, all of our Business Units, Polyurethanes, Polycarbonates as well as Coating, Adhesive and Specialties, have witnessed great and inspiring advancements," said Huber stating, "A healthy growth, I believe, will follow in the near future."

"As we are going to build a new organization after separating from the Bayer Group soon, we have to make it as efficient as possible. This is going to be a great challenge for myself, for everyone in the company. Internally, we need manage the change for our employees, develop new strategies, define a new name and design a new corporate identity, and so on. Externally we also need to position ourselves in China. This is going to be one of my most important roles," added Huber.

Prior to his role as Global Head of Business Planning, Strategy and Administration of Polycarbonates Business, Huber was CEO and President of Bayer Taiwan for over five years, where he brought an ongoing drive for innovation and led the sustainable growth of the market.

Before moving to Taiwan, he held positions of increasing responsibility within the company based out of a number of countries such as Leverkusen, Germany and Hong Kong.  

Steffan Huber is married and has two children.
