(NYSE: STP), the world’s largest photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturer, today announced it has been granted preliminary injunctions in Germany against "Suntech Power Holding (Hongkong) Co., Limited", which is unrelated to Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd, and two identified distributors. The preliminary injunctions prohibit the Hong-Kong based company and its distributors from distributing products that are branded "Suntech".
Dr. Zhengrong Shi, Suntech’s Chairman and CEO said, "While there have only been isolated cases of unrelated companies offering imitation products, we are determined to proactively protect our customers’ interests and the integrity of the Suntech brand by vigorously pursuing companies that seek to unlawfully profit from the Suntech brand or produce imitation products."

They have also been utilized in many of the world’s largest and highest profile PV solar projects.
