SHANGHAI, Aug. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The British Business Awards held biennially and hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai this year, the Awards recognise and promote excellence in innovation, enterprise and endeavour in both the British and Chinese business communities, across a variety of industry sectors.

To launch the Awards, the British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai recently conducted a roadshow covering local business communities located in Chengdu, Guangzhou and Beijing.

Chengdu - AGM & Her Majesty the Queen's Birthday Party

On 2 June, the BBA 2016 was launched in Chengdu during the Annual General Meeting and the Queen's Birthday Party. The event was hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce in Southwest China & the China-Britain Business Council.

Phil Roebuck, Executive Director of the British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai, announced the launch and introduced the British Business Awards. VIP guests that attended the event include Liberal Democrat spokesman for the creative industries in the House of Lords, Lord Clement-Jones and the All Party Parliamentary China Group from the UK.

Guangzhou - Members' Appreciation Dinner

On 29 June, the BBA 2016 was introduced to the Guangzhou British business community, during a Members' Appreciation Dinner hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong to celebrate the chamber's 20th Anniversary. This event included the official launch of the BBA 2016 conducted by Phil Roebuck, and members had the opportunity to meet newly appointed Executive Manager, George Day.

Beijing - AGM & Summer Garden Party

The final stop of the BBA roadshow was in Beijing on 6 July, during the British Chamber Annual General Meeting & subsequent Summer Garden Party. The event included an election of the new Executive Committee, the official launch presentation of the BBAs by Phil Roebuck, and short speeches were given by Lord Price, Minister at the UK Department for International Trade, and HM Ambassador Barbara Woodward.
