Travix is the New Name for Merged Online Travel Providers

UTRECHT, Netherlands, May 11, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The recently merged online travel suppliers CheapTickets, Vliegwinkel, BudgetAir, Flugladen and Vayama announce today the new corporate name of the company: Travix. These five online travel providers create a new internet company with global reach. Travix is part of the international travel company BCD Holdings.

The new company operates in 15 countries with 375 employees and annual sales of over U.S. $1 billion. The new Headquarters are located in Utrecht, The Netherlands, and the existing Haarlem and Oosterhout offices will remain. Travix also has operations in the USA, India and Germany.

Management

The daily management of the company is being overseen by Raymond Vrijenhoek, Erik-Jan Vlek and Andre Hesselink. Mr. Vrijenhoek was formerly CEO of CheapTickets and in his new role is responsible for Global Marketing, Sales, PR and HR. Mr. Vlek previously worked as CFO at BCD Holdings and is now responsible for IT, Finance and Operations. Mr. Hesselink was the co-founder and CEO of Vayama. For Travix he represents worldwide Industry Relations and is responsible for the international rollout of new markets.

New Countries, New Markets

The trusted brand "CheapTickets" will be introduced shortly in more countries, including Spain and Italy. However, the final choice of one of the brand names is always dependent on market conditions and customer preferences in a country. "We have become successful in online ticket sales and that is our focus in the future in both existing and new markets," said Raymond Vrijenhoek.
