SINGAPORE, Oct. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) announced Uvionics Tech, a Singapore-based data analytics and intelligent products integration solutions startup, is migrating its existing enterprise applications to IBM Cloud. The company is also using IBM Cloud to develop new applications to improve the efficiency of its data analytics and intelligent products operations.
With operations in Singapore, India, and the United States, Uvionics Tech specialises in solutions in areas like healthcare, sensors fusion/integration, the Internet of Things (IoT), energy, life sciences and utilities, using product integration with software, advanced analytics, machine learning, deep learning, deep belief and artificial intelligence.
With IBM Cloud's Platform-as-a-Service, Bluemix, Uvionics Tech has been able to seamlessly develop their applications and conduct graphics processing all on one integrated platform. Previously, the company had to host its application development and graphical processing unit on two different platforms, which took twice as long for the setup, configuration and integration.
Since its move to IBM Cloud, Uvionics Tech has seen significant improvement in business productivity and a reduction in lead time for application development. For example, it now takes them two days instead of eight days to set up the application development infrastructure, which has resulted in a 300 percent gain.
In data management, Uvionics has also experienced a 150 percent gain in productivity from using Cloudant, IBM's database-as-a-service, on Bluemix. After using the IoT Foundation service on Bluemix for IoT programming, there has also been a 300 percent gain while setup time has been halved, owing to the drag and drop feature on Bluemix.
"With Bluemix, productivity within the team has increased significantly which is critical for startups with lean teams like Uvionics. It has allowed us to use our time more strategically to serve our customers better; time which was previously spent on managing the set up and integration of various software and services. In addition, we are now able to scale up our system requirements on-the-go as we continue to engage with more customers," said Parthasarathy Baskar, Chief Executive Officer of Uvionics Tech.
"Our engagement with Uvionics demonstrates how Bluemix can help organisations significantly improve their productivity and contribute to their growth in exciting new areas like IoT," said Tim Greisinger, Managing Director, IBM Singapore. "IBM offers a wide breadth of services, capabilities and partnerships which allows us to work with numerous startups throughout the world. Through our engagements with startups like Uvionics, we in turn work towards continually adapting and refining our products and services to serve the needs of the startup community better."
In Singapore, IBM recently partnered with NUS Enterprise, Singapore infocomm Technology Federation's 123JumpStart and muru-D, to launch the IBM Innovation Space at Plug-In@Blk71 and offer access to our Global Entrepreneurs Program for Cloud Startups.
