NEW YORK, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The Yanda International Health City is set to be unveiled in January, 2010.

The environmentally friendly complex will include facilities offering state-of-the-art care for seniors, a hospital staffed by international healthcare workers as well as medical research and training facilities. It will also include an international conference center.

Yanda will be a model in healthcare services in the 21st century. It has already developed cooperation ties with many world-renowned medical schools and hospitals, and has worked together with them in scientific research and exchanges of personnel.

Yanda has developed a balance of both Chinese traditional medical practices and advanced Western medicine and is seeking more partners among leading healthcare service providers around the world.

The complex is located 25 km from the Beijing Capital International Airport. Covering an area of 500,000 sqm, Yanda is designed to offer an environment reflecting holistic ecology and boasts a gross investment of about 7 billion Yuan.

The "Golden Age" Nursing Center

This facility offers the latest technology as Yanda aims to set a standard in healthcare for senior citizens.

There are two types of lodgings: home-style or hotel-style. Residents will be housed according to their medical evaluation: as independent, semi-dependent or dependent.

Yanda aims to cater to individual tastes and preferences. Facilities include Chinese and Western restaurants and entertainment rooms. Dieticians will offer personalized advice on diet and nutrition. Amenities include swimming pools, sauna, hot springs, gyms and oxygen bars. Also available will be on-site cafes and a multifunctional hall, where events and activities will be organized, and a library. Cable and satellite television will be available. There is also a church on site.

Yanda will be a model in senior healthcare. By the middle of the century, a third of China’s population will be aged 60 or older. That compares with 26 percent in the US.

The average life expectancy in China is now 73, an increase of over 30 years since the founding of the People’s Republic 60 years ago. Globally, the number of people aged 60 years or over is expected to almost triple, increasing from 672 million in 2005, to nearly 1.9 billion by 2050.

Yanda International Hospital

This hospital will be staffed by over 100 medical professionals from countries and regions including Japan, Korea, Europe and the US, as well as specialists from within China.

The hospital meets the requirements set by the Chinese Ministry of Health classification as a Class Three First Level General Hospital Standard. It will integrate medical care services, research and teaching.

Yanda International Hospital has determined six key clinical disciplines which will be its focus. It is planning the following:

-- A Clinical Cardiovascular Disease Medical Center

-- A Clinical Tumor Medical Center

-- A Rehabilitation Medical Center

-- A Minimally Invasive Medicine Center

-- A Trauma Center

-- An Organ Transplant Center

The Yanda International Hospital will have 3,000 beds. Of these, 2,000 will be for patients receiving medical treatment. 70 percent of these beds will be in deluxe single wards.

Yanda also aims to receive VIP guests, offering several two- or three-room wards which will form a VIP zone and an "international special care zone." The remaining 1,000 beds will be for rehabilitation.

Yanda International Hospital brings world-class standards to Beijing -- it will be JCI certified, internationalized and digitized. The equipment used in the hospital will be of the best quality available in international healthcare. They will include PET-CT scans, 3.OT NMR, dual-source CT scanners, a large linear accelerator and a large angiography machine.

Yanda is developing an accounting system with investors and operators relatively independent of one another.

Yanda’s Training Institute is set to accommodate training programs for 1500 doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers.

And, an International Nightingale Nursing Training Center will be established, in cooperation with the Nightingale Organization.

Yanda hopes to initiate a dialogue with the medical community in countries and regions all over the world and aims to host international professionals and increase communication and exchanges. Chinese healthcare centers like Yanda devote their strength to serving international citizens.
