[KIMES 2015] Korea's Largest Medical Expo Held

SEOUL, South Korea, March 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- #EXPO -- The 31st Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show(KIMES) opened Mar. 5 at COEX.

Under the theme, "Today's health means tomorrow's happiness" and co-organized by Korea E&X, Korea Medical Devices Industrial Coop. Association, and Korea Medical Devices Industry Association, this year's KIMES ran for four days, Mar. 5-8.

38,500 m2 of exhibition space taking up the entire 1st and 3rd floors and Grand Ballroom of COEX, a total of 1,145 companies, including 530 domestic manufacturers and foreign manufacturers from 34 countries including the U.S., China, Germany, and Japan, exhibited more than 30,000 medical devices, hospital facilities, medical information system, and other medical-related products.

To maximize the exhibition effect and add convenience to visitors, exhibition items have been divided into sections: A Hall (1st Floor) - treatment and medical information, B Hall Lobby and Grand Ballroom (1st Floor) - healthcare and rehabilitation, C Hall (3rd Floor) - devices for exams and diagnosis, D Hall (3rd Floor) - diagnosis and hospital facilities

Also, due to the emerging interest, a special section for medical device parts has been prepared at Room A4, and Samsung Medical Center and Asan Medical Center provided discounts on medical checkups to foreign buyers.

At the COEX Conference Center, a total of 101 seminars and symposiums on medical industry, policy, and science including Global Trade Conference, Radiology International Symposium, and Seoul Physical Therapy Association Symposium were held.

For seven straight years, KIMES has been selected as one of the "Global Top Exhibitions in Korea" by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and has invited a large number of major figures in the medical industry and foreign press. It also paid for accommodations for foreign buyers to stimulate international business consultation.

KIMES has free foreign language interpretation service available at each gate of the halls, and free shuttle bus between Songpa Public Parking Lot and COEX. Also, KIMES Scholarships, implemented last year for celebrating the 30th session of KIMES, will be given.
