Dec. 5, 2017, SEOUL, South Korea /PRNewswire/ -- On November 15th, 'Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries(Minister Kim, Young-rok)' and 'Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp. (President Yeo, in-hong)' successfully hosted the global video contest, which was held under the theme of 'My Favorite K-Food'.
From 25 September to 15 November (52 days), 1,038 works were received from 73 countries around the world through various social media platforms, such as YouTube, Facebook, Weibo and more. Participation rate by continent was 54.8% in Asia, 22.6% in South America, 13.6% in North and Central America, and 5.8% in Europe and the participation of the countries that are not major exporters of Korean food was also high, confirming the excellence of K-Food and global export growth.
The accepted entries were evaluated on the basis of the understanding and utilization of Korean ingredients, creativity and number of interactions (likes and comments). After the screening, total of 28 entries were chosen as the winners.
Palida Charoenporn (Thailand), 1st winner, bought K-Food from local market and cooked food with expressions and was evaluated as excellent in understanding and image of Korean food.
In addition, Haruba Kano (Japan), 2nd winner, won a high praise for cooking bibimbap with the theme of "making the best bibimbap in the world." and JINCHENYU (China) made K-POP pleasant, and the imagination expressing expression about Korean food was noticed.
Especially, in this contest, influential content creators from each country participated, so, people of the world were focused on this contest.

Meanwhile, KRW 10 million for the 1st place winners, KRW 5 million for the 2nd place winners, KRW 2 million for the 3rd place winners will be awarded respectively. In addition, 20 recipients of the 4th place will receive a variety of awards including presenting Korean food. In this event, a prize ceremony will be held inviting 8 winners to South Korea. After that, they will be given a traveling opportunity to experience Korean culture and food for 5 days 4 nights from December 11th to December 15th.
