HONG KONG, Oct. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cedrus Investments ("Cedrus"), a global boutique investment firm, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with JSC Astana Innovations, an entity created and 100% owned by the Mayor's Office of Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and charged with promoting the competitiveness of Astana and creating the most favorable conditions for development and innovation.
Cedrus' commitments under the MOU are threefold. First, Cedrus will offer analysis and advice, based on its extensive expertise and decades of experience in the technology industry and unparalleled industry resources, on the latest innovative technologies, particularly in nanotechnology, clean technology and other emerging technologies. Second, Cedrus will advise on appropriate technology investments, guide and coordinate investment projects and make direct investments in select companies and government projects when appropriate. Finally, Cedrus will promote and facilitate the introduction of technology industries by bringing related companies to Astana to set up local offices and factories.
