China Connected Vehicle & ITS Expo and Forum kicks off in October

SHANGHAI, April 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Given the astronomical sales figure of 20 million vehicles in China during 2013 and the country's increasingly crowded city streets and thoroughfares, it's time to put in place an intelligent transportation management system and instigate a smart vehicle revolution. As a result, "Connected Vehicle" and "Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)", two major applications launched in the field of Internet of Things (IoT), will certainly be the hottest focus this year. The China Connected Vehicle & ITS Series Event, jointly hosted by the Society of Automotive Engineers of China, the China Intelligent Transportation Systems Association and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Shanghai Sub-Council, will consist of two major events: the "China Connected Vehicle & ITS and Forum" and a series event for "fellow travelers" -- car drivers and other stakeholders interested in high-quality products that support a better transportation ecosystem -- where the latest developments and trends in the Connected Vehicle and ITS industry and how to jointly build an industry-wide ecosystem will be discussed.

High-end event jointly supported by three major organizations to be held in October

The first China Connected Vehicle & ITS Expo and Forum will be held at Shanghai Mart on October 28-29, 2014. Under the strong support of the Society of Automotive Engineers of China, the China Intelligent Transportation Systems Association and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Shanghai Sub-Council, the expo and summit forum will focus on demonstrating the Connected Vehicle and ITS sector's latest innovations and products from both China and abroad. The new exhibition model leveraging the convergence of a live-action cyber city with a physical event will stimulate a higher level of direct interactivity and enhance the overall experience, enabling people to learn what the city of the future will look and feel like and to marvel at the efficiency and convenience of travel in that city of the future, opening a new network era for intelligent vehicle information that incorporates people, vehicle and the physical surroundings.

As one of the key events at the expo, the 2014 "fellow travelers" series was newly launched this year. By engaging the captains of industry through a series of high-level discussion groups, the event is expected to enhance cross-industry networking, gather more industry insight and wisdom, share more industry experience and expand mutual development. Highlights of the schedule include:

  • "Connected Vehicle (Internet of Vehicle), a disruptive or integral force to ITS? " in March
  • "Information Consumption and Intelligent Transport" in June
  • "Global ITS Forum - China Thinking" in September
  • "Solution for Urban Public Transportation" in December
  • Each event is scheduled on the last Friday of the month throughout 2014.

Please look out for more news about the "China Connected Vehicle & ITS Expo and Forum" and related series events and invite the "fellow travelers" that you know, to experience and take part in the innovation and inspiration that is part and parcel of the Connected Vehicle and ITS sector while doing your bit to serve the sector, enabling the event to be the best platform for brainstorming in the industry.
