CSA Global and The PDAC Reveal 2019 Bursary Award Winners

TORONTO, Feb. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- CSA Global and The Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) is excited to announce its 2019 Joan Bath and Peter Howe Bursary Award winners.

The awards, which will be presented at the PDAC 2019 Convention during the Student-Industry Networking Luncheon on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, recognize geoscientists and mining engineers in their quest to advance the economic aspects of the mineral industry in Canada through research.

CSA Global's President of Americas, Stan Wholley, stated: "We are delighted to congratulate Rebecca Montsion, Recipient of the 2019 Joan Bath Award and James Kidder, Recipient of the 2019 Peter Howe Award. The Student Bursary Award Program was launched in 2018 in collaboration with PDAC to assist geoscientists and mining engineers, who possessed industry experience and are enrolled to undertake further study in the areas of economic geology or mining in the minerals sector. The honourees of the bursaries are inspirational figures from the CSA Global family.

Joan Bath, a talented mining engineering consultant from CSA Global in Perth, Western Australia has embodied excellence and achievement in the mining industry over several decades. Joan was the first woman to graduate as a mining engineer in Australia in 1974, and went on to have a long and distinguished career in the resource industry.

Peter Howe founded A.C.A. Howe International (now merged with CSA Global) in Toronto and went on to establish offices in the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, and Indonesia. Peter studied geology and mine engineering, was a global leader in exploration consulting and was responsible for several important mine discoveries.

The PDAC 2019 Convention will take place in Toronto, Canada from March 3-6, 2019.
