HONG KONG, Sept. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- CSA Group, a leading global provider of product certification and testing services, today announces the accreditation of its Frankfurt facility by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) to the ISO/IEC Guide 65, General Requirements for Bodies Operating Product Certification System and recognition under the Occupational Health and Safety Association (OSHA) program. The accreditation recognizes CSA Group's ability to certify to selected electronic and electrical categories as well as for industrial products and household appliances for sale in Canada and in the United States.

The CSA Group Frankfurt laboratory will help provide quicker and more cost-effective services for European companies seeking support for global market access. The Guide 65 accreditation includes the evaluation of manufacturer samples, initial assessment of production processes or quality systems, as applicable, evaluation of test and assessment reports, and on-going surveillance of factories or production samples.
Currently under construction, the Frankfurt facility will include a state of the art test laboratory in conjunction with the certification offices. It will consist of approximately 1000 square meters, and is planned to be operational as of spring 2014. CSA Group is also planning to expand its facilities in the UK and Germany over the next year in order to meet the growing needs of customers both in Europe and around the world. Additionally, CSA Group has branch offices in Italy and The Netherlands, testing facilities for medical and lab equipment devices in Switzerland, and employs more than 260 experts across Europe.
