China: gateway to the Mexican market

SHANGHAI, Feb. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- DEKRA's laboratories in Shanghai, Wenzhou, Guangzhou and Hong Kong are now recognized by the Mexican National Certification Body (ANCE) as Approved Laboratories under ISO/IEC 17025. The electrical safety testing reports provided by these laboratories can now be used to apply for NOM certification for electrical products, as required by Mexican regulations.

Mexico's new energy consumption requirements for 186 products took effect on 11 September 2011. According to the new Mexican Law for Sustainable Use of Energy Regulations (LASE), all manufacturers and importers must submit energy consumption information about their appliances -- and other equipment -- to CONUEE (the National Commission for Energy Efficiency) as well as to PROFECO (the Federal Attorney's Office for Consumer Protection).

DEKRA works closely with ANCE, the non-profit private institution authorised by the Mexican government for standards and conformity assessment of products imported. Thanks to this cooperation, DEKRA can now offer local testing and registration to comply with Mexican regulations for electrical products from China. With strong expertise and support, plus a local network in Mexico, DEKRA can provide these technical services, enabling electrical products to be certified in accordance with all applicable legislation and regulations.
