Honeywell Turbo Technologies honored for outstanding customer service and innovation

SHANGHAI, March 14, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Honeywell (NYSE: HON), the leading global developer of automotive turbochargers, has received a Best Supplier Award from Weifang Diesel, the largest diesel engine manufacturer in China. Honeywell Turbo Technologies was recognized for its overall service level in 2011, strong technical support, excellent business cooperation, on-time delivery and innovation.

Honeywell was one of only 11 suppliers selected from the more than 350 companies supplying Weifang Diesel, which is located in Shandong, China, and manufactures diesel engines and generators. Honeywell operates its state-of-the-art Turbo Technologies Global Technical Center in Shanghai, with full capabilities to develop and test new turbo technologies and applications for automakers in China. Honeywell also recently announced its plans to operate a second manufacturing facility in China in Wuhan by the end of 2012.

"We are honored to be acknowledged as a best supplier by Weifang Diesel," said David Paja, the vice president and general manager of Honeywell Transportation Systems for China and India. "Our relentless focus on delivering the best products and the best service to our customers is the foundation of our commitment to the Chinese market and its growth."

Given the implementation of more stringent fuel efficiency standards for commercial vehicles in China, turbochargers have become the choice for many OEMs striving to meet societal and regulatory demands. Honeywell expects sales of turbocharged vehicles in China to double from 4 million in 2011 to 8 million in 2016, as turbo penetration increases across all vehicle segments.

As the first foreign company to establish a wholly-owned turbocharger manufacturing facility in Shanghai, China, Honeywell is uniquely positioned to provide innovative turbo technologies delivering both significant fuel efficiency and emissions reductions to automakers in China.
